Robbie Lea is a well known and highly regarded sailor with over 40 Years of experience.  He is the owner of “Robbie Lea Academy of Sailing”.
He has reached the dizzy heights winning many National and State Titles, Placing in World titles. For 10 years was a skipper of 18ft skiffs in both Qld and NSW. A Sailing Master on offshore racing yachts and won recognition as yachtsman of the year on two occasions. His previous employment has been as a Fulltime Sailing Instructor and worked with Schools and Universities in Outdoor Education.
He is highly skilled but manages to keep his feet firmly on the ground with a genuine desire to teach sailing to beginners.
Currently holds certification from Yachting Australia as a Basic Skills Instructor and a Racing Skills Coach.
Being a person with integrity and morals, he has seen the need for a local highly skilled person to not only teach advanced practices to local sailors, but also introduce everybody to the sport and pastime of sailing.

Probably my most enjoyable moment was when I taught a gentleman who was 74 years of age. He had put off learning to sail his whole life and came to me with every excuse under the sun as to why he is too old to sail. I answered all his questions. He started lessons with me and now regularly enjoys his sailing. Even bought a boat! That was 8 years ago”.
